39rd International Fur Fair of Kastoria

The movement of trade visitors was considered as satisfactory by the President of the Association of the Kastorian Fur Manufacturers, during the 39th International Fur Fair of Kastoria, which closed its gates on Monday, May 5th.

Mr. Kalisthenis was optimistic that there will be significant transactions despite the adverse conditions prevailing in the fur industry.

Moreover, all new prevailing fur trends were presented at the incredible Gala which was held.

From Milan to Paris and New York, the reappearance of Fur is a fact. Fur dominates; from the absolute fur coat, as an accessory, to fur as a stylistic detail. Its triumphant return is largely due to the fact that fur is not used according to the old traditional concepts. A modern style has been imposed on heavy fur, which makes it easier to wear. From a luxury item for few it became accessible to everyone, covering the preferences and tastes of all ages. So, from a wardrobe item that would come out of the closet only in exceptional circumstances, it may now be worn from morning to evening. Following the international stylistic commandments and fashion trends, where fur is modern and a must, the FURFASHIONSHOW which was presented in the first evening of the 39th International Fur Fair of Kastoria by the organizing body, the Association of the Kastorian Fur Manufacturers, won everyone’s applause.

The creations presented were the most fashionable fur options combined with outfits for all times (casual in the morning, sporty for evening outings and striking combinations for a night out or for a formal appearance). Coats, jackets, dresses, gowns were captivating the camera as well as the audience, creating a winter mood for the guests. Faced with the crisis and the need to serve the dream of fashion, designers created clothing items that tempt even the distrustful. The collections show the maturity of the designer, who does not hesitate to use fur as an original material and to convert it to anything.

Twelve (12) fur collections developed their stories; each one with its own style and each one having its own role on the catwalk as a separate and yet single piece of the collection. Fur creations were perfectly combined with designer clothes and leather accessories.

In his speech, the President of the Association of the Kastorian Fur Manufacturers, Iraklis Kalisthenis, referring to the dynamics of this year’s event, pointed out that the International Fur Fair of Kastoria can again become the spearhead of Greek and International Economy, provided that there is always such a cooperation for the achievement of the same and even better result for the industry.
